Story Board (by Aaron Toombs)

Here Aaron has created a storyboard that gives us an idea of what we are going to film on our filming day. In each photo Aaron has successfully chosen the shots we will be using, under each picture is a description which explains what each shot will be representing.

100 Word Plan (by Aaron Toombs)

Our plan for our video is to have multiple shots involving mirrors, half faces etc. We are going to be filming in multiple locations such as a field and near MK Stadium at night. Together we have picked out several R&B videos and hope to change/interpret our inspirations in our own way. We will also be filming in a car, for example having the camera facing the bonnet to show off our location, this will be more of an introduction or ending shot though. Lighting wise we will be making it slightly blue/look darker to match the theme of the song.

RE: We request to use a song of yours  for our A2 media music video project

Dear Mr. Tesfaye
We are currently studying Buckingham school, sixth form as a part of our A2 Media coursework that we will be creating a music video.
We understand that you are the owner of the copyright in the musical composition "Tell your friends" by the Weeknd and we would really like to produce a music video to the entire song.
Since we are students, our budget is limited and the distribution of the music will be only to students and the administration of the Buckingham School. We are hoping that you will allow us to use your music video without any charge.
Your signature below, under 'Confirmed by', will indicate that you will agree and let us use your music video without any payment. Please let us know as soon as possible if the song cannot be licensed so that artistic changes may be made in the songs to be included in the production.
If you have any questions, you can reach us in care of Mr Tyler at the Buckingham School, London Rd, Buckingham MK18 1ATor 01280 777 893 or ABDJrecords@bucksmail.net
Thank you for your help with this matter and we look forward hearing from you
Yours Faithfully

17.Chosen Track (by Aaron Toombs)

The Weeknd-Tell Your Friends
As this song includes too much inappropriate language we will need to change some of the lyrics/find a censored version. I personally have censored these lyrics by adding * symbolising each letter, this is so we know which parts to miss etc. Other than that this is our choice of song because we have many ideas about how we can re-create this video in our own way, we also have ideas from other music videos/artists and we also have our own, therefore we are going to keep this song and continue filming/practicing our shots.

The reason why we have chose this song is because we all really like the artist The Weeknd especially the song "Tell Your Friends". Doing an unknown song that no one in our group likes wouldn't provide the motivation to produce a high quality well presented music video.  This is why we have chose this song. Additionally the two people in our group that will be lip syncing to this song know the song very well, each word in it, how the artist sings it and etc.

Lyrics:

Verse 1: “We are not the same I am too reckless
I'm not tryna go in that direction
These ****** they been doing too much flexing
And they’re about to call the wrong attention
And I ain't got no patience, no more testing
I do **** how I want, don't need no blessing
XO ****** ain't nothing to mess with
Nobody stopping us, oh no we're destined
And everybody around you is so basic
I'm never rocking white, I'm like a racist
I don't drink my liquor with a chasin'
And money is the only thing I'm chasin'
And some dope dimes on some **** lines
Give me **** all night, *** four times
Baby girl just wanna ***** a pound
Do an ounce, get some ****
Tell her friends about it”

Hook: “Go tell your friends about it (About it)
Go tell your friends about it (About it)
Go tell them what you know, what you seen
How I roll, how I did it on the low
Go tell your friends about it (About it)
Go tell your friends about it (About it)
Go tell them what you know, what you seen
How I roll, how I be off that ****
Go tell your friends about it (About it)
Go tell your friends about it
I'm that ***** with the hair
Singing 'bout popping pills, ******* *******, living life so trill”

Verse 2:  “Last year I did all the politician'
This year I'm all focused on the vision
I think these **** deserve another fixing
I’m talking about the ones from the beginning
Don't believe the rumours *****, I'm still a user
I'm still rocking camo and still roll with shooters
I'm a villain in my city, I just made another killing
I'mma spend it all on bitches
And everybody *******, everybody *******
***** on the house, everybody *******
And I miss my city man it's been a minute
M.I.A. a habit, Cali was the mission
Cruise through the west-end in my new Benz
I'm just tryna live life through a new lens
Driving by the streets I used to walk through
When I had no crib I guess you call that **** a miracle”

Hook:  “Go tell your friends about it (About it)
Go tell your friends about it (About it)
Go tell them what you know, what you seen
How I roll, how I be on the low
Go tell your friends about it (About it)
Go tell your friends about it
I'm that nigga with the hair
Singing 'bout popping pills, ******* *******, living life so trill”

Verse 3:  “My cousin said I made it big and it's unusual
She tried to take a selfie at my grandma's funeral
Used to roam on Queen, now I sing Queen street anthems
Used to hate attention, now I pull up in that wagon
I was broken, I was broken, I was so broke
I used to roam around the town when I was homeless
Me and Lamar would rob a ***** for his Jordan’s
And flip it just to get these **** another nose fix
Now we get faded, when we want girl, we got choices
Lay them on the ******* table, we got choices
And if they wanna **** my ******, they got choices
They told me not to fall in love, that **** is pointless
Yeah, that **** is pointless
They told me not to fall in love, that **** is pointless
Yeah, that **** is pointless
It's only meant to fall in love
That **** is pointless”

Hook: “Go tell your friends about it (about it)
Go tell your friends about it (about it)
Go tell them what you know, what you seen
How I roll, how I be off that ****
Go tell your friends about it (about it)
Go tell your friends about it
I'm that ***** with the hair
Singing 'bout popping pills, ******* *******, living life so trill
Life so trill
Life so trill
Life so trill”

15.Primary Audience Questionnaire (Results) (by Dawid Wegierski)

I have launched my survey I have had 52 people that have filled out the survey. It is a fairly high number to gain useful information that my group and I will need to create the music video. I have posted the results below to get an idea of what people genre people like and etc. Additionally I have decided to plot the results in a basic bar chart because it’s simple and basic and therefore easy to read.

Link to the questionnaire: http://freeonlinesurveys.com/s/ybR2FZUI

Here we have the first result where we can see that the least most chosen age group is 5 - 8 years old. This means that this survey has obviously not been answered by many young children although it also means that they are not very aware of websites like YouTube and etc. Most chosen group age was from 17 - 21 years old, this means that our target audience will be aged between 17 - 21 year old.

In this result we can see that most males have chosen this option seeing as only 38.46% of the females have chosen for this option. We know by this result that our music video will be mainly aimed at males however we cannot only concentrate on males but females as well.

Here we have a wide selection of different answers, the least chosen one was Electronic and other this is because it turns that not a lot of people like to listen to electronics types of music. Also Other has been chosen once maybe because the person that answered the question couldn't find the right answer. The most chosen one is R&B music, this is good because our chosen song is an R&B as well meaning that our music video should get more popular and watched by more people.

In this result we can see that majority of the people watch music videos. This means that the music video made for the song must be made at a high quality. If 70% of the people answered that they watch music videos this means that a music video is very important because it will promote the song. If not a lot of people said that they watch music videos now a days this means that making an expensive music video would be a waste of money.

In this section I have received many different options, different songs like; Anaconda, Cant feel my face, Blast, Tell your friends and etc. Most of the songs that people have written as their personal favorite song is R&B. This shows that R&B music is starting to become very popular in the recent years
In this result we can clearly see that YouTube has been chosen the most. This might be because it is free, is it to view, simple and known by everyone all around the world. This means that we need to make sure that our music video will be published on YouTube as this is where most people view

music videos
Here we have decided to ask people what sort of TV shows they like in order to see if this relates to the most chosen music genre. This will show us if there is any specific similarities. It turns out that Action and Horrors are the most chosen. This makes sense because if R&B is the most chosen music genre then this relates to these results

In this section we have also asked how they watch TV shows in order to see whether this relates to how people watch music videos. In this results people have chosen mostly chosen YouTube and iPlayer/ Streaming sites. this shows another evident that YouTube is a very popular site chosen to watch TV shows.

14.How will your target audience affect your planning (by Ben Furby)

The target audience will affect the planning and production of the music video because we will need to take into consideration who the age group is that the music video is being aimed at and whether it will need to be censored. For any music video having a target audience is the main aspect because it determines who it is being aimed for and whether they are the appropriate age group.

By having a target audience it will also affect the pricing that the company will set the music at (example- £9.99), because they will need to make as much profit from the sales as possible. By previous sales and releases a target audience for a new production can be vital for the future in that market
